What does Klauer ask of you?
The IT Manager will lead the day-to-day operations of the IT department. This person will play a critical role in overseeing the technological infrastructure, ensuring our systems are efficient, secure, and aligned with our business objectives. The manager will supervise a team of four IT professionals and collaborate with various departments to support and enhance our technological capabilities.

Additional responsibilities will include maintaining a comprehensive infrastructure standard for cloud, voice/​data networks, servers, storage, security, software development, data management, and user accounts. Fostering a culture of operational excellence by establishing efficient procedures, processes and policies. Collaborating closely with key stakeholders across the company to ensure a robust, secure, and cost-effective technology environment.

Essential Functions of the IT Manager 

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation and performance of all IT infrastructure components, including servers, networks, storage, security systems, backup platforms; operating systems, virtualization, replication, and utility software; server-based applications and database environments; and all network-attached peripheral devices.
  • Lead the administration, enhancement, and support of the ERP system.
  • Plans and manages the support of new infrastructure technologies and associated performance and reliability.
  • Stays current on emerging IT infrastructure technologies and best practices.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of IT strategic initiatives.
  • Recruits, retains, develops, and coaches staff.
  • Oversee and manage relationships with IT vendors on software, equipment, licenses, services, and subscriptions.
  • Coordinate and manage enterprise IT processes for cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.

The IT Manager possesses the qualifications and characteristics listed below: 

  • Logical thinking with mature interpersonal skills and well-developed verbal and written capabilities.
  • Understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes, including sourcing, costing, supply planning, purchasing, manufacturing, quality management, and logistics
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT management, preferably in the manufacturing sector.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL.
  • Experience with Sage X3 a plus.
  • BA Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Ability to execute tactical issues while keeping the broader picture intact.
  • Ability to prioritize work and exercise good judgment while managing multiple tasks involved in support, administration, and project management. 
  • Ability to work onsite in Dubuque, IA five days a week.

Required Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT management, preferably in the manufacturing sector.

Required Education: BA Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Consideration will be given to those with equivalent experience.

Physical Demands:

Extended periods of sitting at a desk while working on a computer or attending meetings. Regular use of hands and fingers to type on a keyboard, operate a mouse, perform other computer-related tasks, and manipulate small objects. Ability to view computer screens for extended periods and differentiate colors, fonts, and details on the screen. Occasional lifting weighing up to 25 pounds. Ability to reach for items stored in cabinets or on shelves above or below desk level. Ability to hear and speak clearly for communication purposes, both in person and over the phone. Ability to move within the office space, including walking to different areas, standing for short periods, and navigating around furniture and equipment. Endurance to maintain focus and productivity during regular working hours. Maintaining proper posture to prevent strain or injury, including adjusting chair and monitor heights for ergonomic comfort.
